Clannad Music

Saturday, July 10th, 2010 at 3:19 am

Just thought I’d post these…if for no one’s benefit but my own. I’ve started Clannad After Story (Season 2). Hopefully finish by Monday. That’ll be 52 episodes and an anime movie in 6 days…would have been able to watch more if not for stupid work :@ FYI the series is romantic comedy. It’s target audience is probably girls but nevertheless, I appreciate it’s awesomeness. It’s really hilarious and entertaining, and terribly sad sometimes. Let’s hope it lives up to “Best Rated on Anime News Network”. My standards are pretty high just from seeing that, I hope this second season doesn’t disappoint.

Clannad After Story (Season 2)

I’m not sure if it’s just because this intro is new but I love it! It also takes aspects and scenes from season 1 (above) and tweaks it. I really like the first 18 seconds and after 1:10. So basically the main part I like the least >_<. I think I like the beginning for the piano. I <3 piano. Clannad Ending

KAWAII DANGO! There’s a pink one that reminds me of kirby everytime i see it :D

Damn you Clannad!

On a sudden impulse, I decided to watch a new anime. My friends were talking about Clannad in an email thread and I thought I’d look it up (Clannad on Anime News Network)

It didn’t seem too special, almost generic…but it’s well rated. The sequel, Clannad After Story though is rated really high. Higher than Death Note, higher than FMA: Brotherhood, higher than Cowboy Bebop.

I’m “slowly” going through season 1. I watched 8 episodes yesterday and I’ve watched 6 today (and it’s only 12:30!)…

So far, it’s good. Episodes 3-9 has a crazy sad story arc…it was the saddest thing I’ve seen in such a long time…I had tears. It was unexpected (since I had no idea what the anime would be like). Anyways, looking forward to watching the series (52 episodes ish?) by…Monday next week. Then I can continue my .NET….and work on my website. I can’t do both at the same time (damn subtitles!). I can’t stop watching Clannad tho…despite being a very regular high school setting, there are a lot of cliffhangers.

/back to Clannad, episode 14…

Edit: Finishing what I think is the second story arc, I’ve determined that the purpose of this anime is to make you cry you eyes out. To provide episode after episode of touching drama that cumulates to a tear jerking episode before beginning the next story. Well Clannad, MISSION ACCOMPLISHED. Actually, this second story arc wasn’t as sad for me but everyone will be affected differently…

Avatar: The Last Airbender – Introduction (taken from IMDB)

In a lost age the world is divided into four equal powers: Water Tribe, Earth Kingdom, Fire Nation, and Air Nomads. In each nation there’s a group of gifted people known as Benders who have the ability to manipulate their native element using martial arts and elemental magic. For thousands of years the nations lived together peacefully. But then disaster struck. The young ruler of the Fire Nation, Fire Lord Sozin, began a war of world conquest. The only one who could have prevented it was the Avatar. The Avatar is the human incarnation of the Spirit of the World, he alone can master bending all four elements. But, just when he was needed most, he disappeared. Now, 100 years later, a young Waterbender named Katara and her older brother Sokka stumble upon the long lost Avatar, Aang, who was encased in an iceberg for 100 years. Now, they must help Aang master all four elements before summer when Sozin’s grandson Fire Lord Ozai will use a comet to deal one last deadly strike against the other nations and claim a Fire Nation victory. But, all that is easier said than done with the Fire Lord’s determined and hot-tempered son, Prince Zuko, hot on their trail. Written by Melanie

Review
I watched the entire series of Avatar: The Last Airbender within the last week. Half of season 2 and all of Season 3 today actually >_<. I thought it was a masterpiece of animation, epic in proportion, dramatic, hilarious, entertaining, all around great. It gave me the same whole hearted chilidish fun of Digimon Season 1 except without the terrible dubbedness of it all. I loved Digimon Season 1, I loved how imaginative and unique the Digmon world was. I love the variety of characters as well as the character interaction. Avatar: The Last Airbender does the same trick, taking you to a fantastic, unique world with superb, unique characters.

I should point out that sadly, Season 1 was below my expectations. Given the amount of hype and recommendations from my friends, I found the series good, not great. Very episodic (which I hate). Worth watching but nothing spectacular.

Season 2 picks up the pace. It’s a lot less episodic, the story arcs are larger, the characters are better. They introduce Toph whom is probably my favorite character. Think Gaara of the Sand, but blind, cute and with a spunky attitude. I guess once they get some of the initial character development out of the way and once you know and like the characters better, the show is just so much easier to watch.

Season 3 is epicly good. It’s insanely focused on character development…BUT also focused on plot at the same time. Is that possible? They do….everything right. The bring Season 1 and 2 together and every episode is spectacular. They put their A+ game into everything.

Now that it’s over, I completely understand why I’ve gotten so many recommendations on it. It’s pretty damn good…

I would give it a 9/10….the only drawback is the first season. It was just a little too…episodic, I would have given up on this series if not for Z. But…I’m glad I stuck through it, it was definitely worth it.

9/10! Go watch it if you haven’t…be sure to stick with it even if it starts off a bit slow. It just gets better and better and better.

Hell’s Kitchen S07 E01 – S07 E06

Spoiler Alert – Read if you’re caught up to episode 6

Man…Red is absolutely horrible. Scott is just terrible…the most terrible cook…with the most oblivious head and mouth. Just terrible…but he thinks he’s good >_< it’s so frustrating to watch. Episode 6 was the first episode were the sous chefs, Scott and Andi (!pretty!) took over a side of the kitchen. Man, I wish I was served food by those 2. They’re both so high in skill…just the 2 of them can run a kitchen and do it perfectly. Their food looked awesome. Thankfully, Maria the retard is gone. Chef: “Why’s she so weird?” I lol’d. I honestly hated watching her…like, my blood would boil when I’d see her face, facial reactions, the way she carried herself…argh. Andrew…glad he walked out on the second episode. He freaked me out…he was like, animal killer. And he enjoyed it. He enjoyed butchering his animals…eating stuff raw. Freak. Social outcast and psychotic. I like Ben and Ed….I think they show potential. Ed only did well in that first, 1 episode…but he hasn’t screwed up since then. He does have a deer in the headlights look whenever he’s on the spot…i don’t like that. Like everything’s a surprise. Italian guy (Salvatore?) is funny but unfortunately, simply too stupid. Hard to say for Jay…and Holli….they’re still a bit of a mystery. Gotta say, I’m crushing on Holli…she reminds me kinda of Robin Scherbatsky. I liked when she had to play waitress and was dressed in that suit. Hawt! And then we learned Salvatore was an idiot…and later, that he never went to school. Kinda sad :'( But that’s what he gets for being a “man whore”. Siobahn’s not gonna last, Fran’s not gonna last (Chef Ramsey likes young people…he likes to see growth). My prediction of final 5: Ed, Ben, Autumn, Jay, Holli My prediction of final 3: Ed, Ben…and….Autumn. /probably awesome at cooking wellington just from the number of them I’ve seen…i can figure out raw by touching! touch the food, touch touch!
