Site Updates

1. I modified the Gallery page a bit. I didn’t really like how the icons were just…placed, without any description of what album you were clicking on. I’ve modified it a bit to include some album information. I also categorized the albums/galleries….there’s not much point to the right hand column anymore…but I’m not sure what else to put there.

2. If you look at the navigation, you’ll see the Portfolio section is no longer ~~Portfolio~~. That’s right, the final section to my site is complete: Portfolio.

3. I want to start finishing off that Language Reference section…as well as finalizing and reviewing everything and adding a few more pieces of information here and there. Also, I want to start working on some more themes…Naruto, Professional 1, Professional 2.

4. I’m going to try to do my new layouts as well as start learning jQuery more and…of course, ASP.NET. Really, I need something to build with my .NET knowledge, I’m having trouble thinking of something worthy of the language. This site for example is perfect for PHP…and while I could have used ASP.NET, I doubt I’d be able to use the controls, AJAX, database, etc. components very well. Everything on this site is fairly simple, there’s nothing I really need high level coding for.

Site Updates…sorta

I realized I had completely misused the “Categories” section and used it like tags/labels…and didn’t use tags at all. I’ve gone through all my posts -_-; and rectified the issue. Ew. Rectified is an ugly word. The meaning is nice but it sounds like rectum. That’s an ugly ass word. Pun intended *ba dum dum ching* ….this is you -_-;

I like my categories a lot more now, they make a lot more sense. I’ve also included a new category, EPIC RANTS…these are my favorite posts, the ones I’ve had lingering in my head for years…the ones that always had a beginning, middle, and end, even a few years ago. They’re supposed to make you think differently about something…Sadly, I thought I had more of them…like, 10. Not 5 :( I’m disappointed…

The site progress has been going well, the only section not completed right now is Portfolio….that will take some time, I’m still trying to figure out how I want to do the layout. I’m realizing how difficult some of these pages are if I change the layout to my Naruto layout (effectively making the main space about 1/5 smaller in width, thus messing with my design). BTW. My Naruto layout has NOT been started…it’s really hard :( this one is way more artsy than my others….and it’s difficult getting the right feel for Naruto…there’s no site out there that’s designed in a Naruto-ish way…the way I want to design my site. If you have any, let me know so I can ~~steal~~ borrow some ideas.

Also: Regarding my last post: I have absolutely no room in my condo for another Manga series. What was I thinking. Though I did decide to get Prince of Tennis if I start another one…yes, that shall be my next series. I will probably start getting it…and figure out the space thing after. I’m sure it’ll work out. O_o
And I plan to read School Rumble and 20th Century Boys in the near future. *goes and puts that on his “To Read” list*. I’ll probably save 20th Century Boys for when I feel like something dark again.

I also got my Kirby pillow in the mail this week :) Sleeping with a star pillow is kinda awkward tho…its corners are always in my face. I forgive Kirby tho cuz he’s so cute!

Gallery Updated!

I updated my gallery section to include my digital art, sketches, and pencil work. It’s ridiculously sad and pathetic how LITTLE digital art I did for the last decade. I doodled and sketched a lot but looking at my digital art, I guess I only got the urge to do digital art maybe once a year -_-;

I know I was in school from like, 2001-2006….I guess that sort of explains that gap…but still…

Sites Updates Part 2

1. PHP Session Variable
I (think) I fixed that PHP Session thing. I have no idea how. I messed with the function a bit but didn’t change anything fundamental…it still seems to be working okay for now. I don’t know why. :S

2. Gallery – Updated
I’ve been able implement the structure I intended…I need to fill it with content though.

I need/want to make more albums…I’ve got a few photos now, I’ve been taking lots of pictures…but I need to edit all of them, they don’t turn out too hot without my Photoshop editing.

Non-site update: I organized my photos today…about 2-3 years worth of digital photos.

Sites Updates

Filling a website with content is the boring part…thinking about structure, and HOW you’re gonna do stuff is the fun part. I’m not totally past that but I’m mostly past it. SAD FACE.

1. Hobbies & Projects Section – Added
Organized and caught up on all my shows…it feels pretty good. I caught up on over 30-40 30 minute shows in 1 day (at 20m a show, that’s about 10-13 hours worth). I also caught up on a few episodes of House, Smallville, Breaking Bad and FlashForward. I’m finally completely caught up with everything. I would always fall behind…but I hope with this list, I’ll be able to stay on top of things. Since I caught up on every show that I usually watch, I started Burn Notice. It’s okay…kinda wish I started True Blood instead but I’ll probably get to that in a week.

2. Language Reference Section – Added but Incomplete
I’ve added some PHP content into this section…I still have lots to add but I don’t really want to…right now. It’s kinda boring, despite having a bit of usefulness in the future.

3. Gallery Section – Added but Incomplete
The format/structure isn’t what I intended. Ideally, I would like “albums” on the right hand side…and each album you click on would show thumbnails on the left, main content area.

4. Resume Section – Not Added yet but I’m working on it…kinda
Not really looking for a job right now so I don’t see a real need to update it…but I might as well while I’m working on the site? I might do a half-ass’d job now but leave it a tad incomplete. I haven’t updated it in over 3 years…I haven’t even updated since I became a developer.

5. Naruto Theme – Haven’t started
…But I want to. The design seems crazy complicated/time consuming…and fun. But maybe I should complete more of the above before I start…

I’ve always been like this…a crazy multi-tasker to the point that it takes me forever to complete anything. Because everything slowly gets completed at the same time. I can’t focus on something if it doesn’t challenge my mind. If I work on something tedious and boring too long, I tend to simply get distracted…and then do completely irrelevant things (play PS3, take naps, etc). Filling in the PHP content for the Language Reference section was ridiculously boring, I doubt I could do it if not for Burn Notice maintaining most of my interest.

Side Note – Really tempted to start Zelda: Ocarina of Time…I have an itching for some gaming, I’ve been playing Virtua Tennis 3 lately ever since Saturday when I played it with my friends for but I think I want something a little more…me.
