Peeved.

It never fails.

I’m at work. It’s lunch time. I go out and buy some food. When I return, I go directly to my desk. I sit down at my desk when everyone else sits in the middle table and eats together. I open up my favorite show or anime. I unpack my lunch. Put earphones in BOTH ears.

And then people start talking to me.
“What are you watching?”
they ask.

I would think sitting alone at my desk when everyone else sits together is a sign I want to be left alone.
I would think putting earphones in both ears to, y’know, block the noise and people out would be a sign I want to be left alone.
My hands are dirty as I’m eating a sub/bagel/sandwich….the video has started and I can’t watch/listen to it and talk to people at the same time. Actually, I don’t want to. If I wanted to talk, I wouldn’t be sitting at my desk.

But it never fails, right when I start to get in my groove, when I want to be left alone…that’s when people begin to make inane conversation with me.

That has got to be my biggest work pet peeve. (Today).

Why must people insist on bothering me when I’ve made every indication I want to be left alone. Why do they continue to talk to me when I’m short with them, giving short, vague answers. Back half turned, not giving them my full attention. WHY?! TAKE THE HINT.

I’m a loner by nature and a loner by choice. I generally don’t like people. I don’t like inane conversation. I don’t like to socialize.

That is definitely the Pet Peeve rant for today. I have more…I just need the right situation to bring the rage and passion about. Until next time… :)
