Friday off?!

Monday, April 18th, 2011 at 6:23 pm

We have Friday off this week? I had no idea until today…What should I do with my time?

Contemplated what to play next…was thinking Kingdom Hearts. Another game I started years ago, never to finish. It’s actually pretty similar to Zelda: Ocarina of Time in that…it’s 3rd person…action/role-playing….magic….2 useless partners (Goofy and Donald) instead of one (Navi)…sword fighting….instead of collection 100 Skulltulla tokens, I’m collecting 101 Dalmations :P

That’s the game I want to play…but might not simply because it’s too similar to Zelda: OoT. If not Kingdom Hearts, then Metal Gear Solid 3.

I really want to pick up my web dev again…re-do warrenshea.com a bit…or worldofwarren.com. Maybe open my .NET book again.

There’s never enough time to do what I want…it sucks.

What should I do tonight? Maybe I should do some dev….leave the gaming til Friday. Or not.

Anyways…I think I WILL do some dev…right now.

I’ve done this dance too many times…

Monday, April 18th, 2011 at 3:10 am

I’ve done this dance a number of times…the moves are sometimes the same…but slightly different. Perfected with each iteration.
But something’s changed this time. The song has changed. And yet, I’m still doing the same dance.

And it’s working. I think it’s working. But should I really be doing this dance for a different song? I shouldn’t be.

I know I shouldn’t be…but…the dance is fun. I enjoy it, if not for what I do the dance for, but for the sheer enjoyment of busting out the old moves and seeing if they still work.

What I’m wondering is….how many more times am I going to dance this dance? The song that this dance is for is over…I really shouldn’t be doing it ever again. But some times…when the right opportunity comes up, I wonder if I’ll be able to withhold the dance in me or not. I don’t really want to dance…but some times, it’s just too much damn fun.

The word “dance” has lost all meaning to me.
Also, dance is a metaphor. I don’t really enjoy dancing that much.

Or do I?

no.

10 month mystery……SOLVED!

Sunday, April 17th, 2011 at 3:38 pm

In one of my somewhat regular trips of Pacific Mall, I found myself awe-struck walking by a few pictures on the wall of a tattoo shop. I took some pictures of those pics in hopes of finding out where the pictures came from.

I couldn’t find out anything these pictures. Googling descriptive words was less than useless. A few weeks later, I went back to Pacific Mall but the pictures were moved to the inside of the tattoo shop…and I was too intimidated to go and ask them :P

I eventually made the first pic (above) my iPhone background and it’s been that picture for months now. I absolutely love it.

Months and months pass bringing us to now. I went to a computer store yesterday and noticed the 2nd picture (above) on the back of an iPhone case. I originally thought the pictures above were originals, made by the artist in the tattoo shop or something so seeing one of the pictures on an iPhone case was a bit shocking. I purchased the $4 iPhone case, despite that I wouldn’t use it, because I wanted to see if I could do any research on it. Maybe there was a signature on the case, maybe there was SOMETHING. There wasn’t.

But, I was able to google “Tattoo girl iphone case” into Google and come up with a whole mess of iPhone cases with this kind of art. I taxed my online search capabilities to their limit, searching for hours trying to find out more. Eventually, I came across a site (I’m talking about seeing 40 different “buy iphone case” sites before stumbling on to this one) that said “Mithra Tattoo iPhone Case“. Which then, led me to google Mithra and Mithra tattoo…which brought me to here:

Mithra Tattoo Canada

Finally, I had found what I was looking for. HQ Posters, a huge selection of stuff by the artist, “Little White“. I was pretty happy and proud with myself…Mission: Complete!

Anyways, I’m quite pleased with everything, finally finding the artist of a random picture I saw 10 months ago. I finally have a good quality, no reflection picture of the pic I wanted. I’m very tempted to buy some posters, only $17…but don’t really know where I could put them :( Maybe I’ll just buy them for later ;)

Office Pranks

Sunday, April 17th, 2011 at 1:35 am

This post as been a long time coming. Let’s start off:

Between Friday, March 11 and Sunday, March 20, my co-worker, let’s call him FoodGreggory was on vacation. He returned Monday, March 21 and returned to this:

I have a video as well but I can’t really post it for various reasons…

Anyways, while I’ll say it was my idea and also that I purchased the tin foil and seram rap, it wasn’t I that solely did the work. Many people contributed! Nevertheless, I was blamed! MADNESS I say! Anyways, in doing this I opened Pandora’s Box. I wasn’t really considering the option of revenge, despite how obvious and certain it would be.

So before I went on vacation last week (March 7-8) to play Zelda: Ocarina of Time, I decided to prepare my desk for revenge.

Sadly, when I came in on Monday March 11, it had not come. My desk and every aspect of it remained untouched. How disappointing. However, the looming threat of an impending prank was probably the scariest of all. Much like the Slap-bet (from How I Met Your Mother), the worst part is not knowing. I would find out that I needn’t wait long, as the next day, I unexpectedly walked in to see this:

FoodGreggory has even put cups, partially filled with water, in my cabinet.

Well played and kudos to you, FoodGreggory. The timing of the prank had been perfect. I hadn’t suspected a thing. He had already completed everything by 8:00am that day, despite that I came in at 9:30am.

Anyways, we have since decided on a truce and that no further pranks shall be done to each other for the foreseeable future. And thus ends my office pranks…for now. I already have some idea of what to do next, but the problem is when. And to whom.
