Peeved.

Wednesday, December 1st, 2010 at 1:40 am

It never fails.

I’m at work. It’s lunch time. I go out and buy some food. When I return, I go directly to my desk. I sit down at my desk when everyone else sits in the middle table and eats together. I open up my favorite show or anime. I unpack my lunch. Put earphones in BOTH ears.

And then people start talking to me.
“What are you watching?”
they ask.

I would think sitting alone at my desk when everyone else sits together is a sign I want to be left alone.
I would think putting earphones in both ears to, y’know, block the noise and people out would be a sign I want to be left alone.
My hands are dirty as I’m eating a sub/bagel/sandwich….the video has started and I can’t watch/listen to it and talk to people at the same time. Actually, I don’t want to. If I wanted to talk, I wouldn’t be sitting at my desk.

But it never fails, right when I start to get in my groove, when I want to be left alone…that’s when people begin to make inane conversation with me.

That has got to be my biggest work pet peeve. (Today).

Why must people insist on bothering me when I’ve made every indication I want to be left alone. Why do they continue to talk to me when I’m short with them, giving short, vague answers. Back half turned, not giving them my full attention. WHY?! TAKE THE HINT.

I’m a loner by nature and a loner by choice. I generally don’t like people. I don’t like inane conversation. I don’t like to socialize.

That is definitely the Pet Peeve rant for today. I have more…I just need the right situation to bring the rage and passion about. Until next time… :)

Movember Last Day!

Whew, 30 days. The time just flew by!

Tomorrow, I’ll be clean shaven, I can’t wait :)

I need a haircut desperately too, but that’s another issue. Maybe Dec 1…

I love solving a good problem.

Not much to write about. I have been coding all night, from around 6pm-11pm in ASP classic, VB.
I couldn’t get this file upload thing to work.

It’s dumb, I should have written everything in ASP.NET C#…but 90% was already coded in ASP classic VB…so I tried to power through.

5 hours later with no success, and no wanting to recode everything in ASP.NET C# or ASP.NET VB, I decided to go with PHP.

30 minutes later and I had most of what I needed. I was so happy!

And then I ran into another bug. Skip forward 4 hours (to now)…and I have it solved :) And I’m feeling very good…it’s a good feeling, working on something, in this case, 10 hours….and finally solving the problem. Yourself. I mean, there’s the internet, but not asking friends/coworkers…and being able to do what you need.

I dunno…just really happy right now :)

I really wanted to spend this weekend reading. Reading my novel and reading a CSS book. But this was good, I learned a lot about PHP and have more code base to work with, and isn’t that what it’s all about? :)

No, it’s not Valentine’s Day

As I was leaving work today, this suddenly popped into my head. I guess I was looking at Snorlax, replacing that avatar on Facebook and Twitter and had Pokemon on the brain.

I Pikachoose You!

I just suddenly got inspired to do a Valentine’s day card, similar to the Simpsons one.

I choo-choo-choose you!

That’s enough of that, time to play DCUOnline :D
